Description
Very dark skin, fiery red/orange hair and a mysterious, large yellow/orange jewel embedded into the forehead are the three tell-tale features of a Gerudo human. Gerudo feature deep, gold-iris eyes and prominent noses, though Gerudo females are usually very beautiful. They wear clothing fitting of their desert culture, showing a lot of belly and sometimes wearing veils to hide their nose and mouth. Their clothing and fashion can be likened to a gypsy, Spanish-Arabic motif. Gerudo males are rarely seen, thus, there is no known pattern to the clothing they wear, though it is similar to the sand-thief style in general.
History
The outcasts of society the world over, the Gerudo have never had it well. Already looked upon as brigands and thieves, the Gerudo lived in the slums of society, making endsmeat in the same manner that gypsies would, the majority of the population of Gerudo living out in the desert. Then, Ganondorf, the human form of Ganon, is reincarnated many times as the king of the Gerudo and because of this stinge the Gerudo were banished from society as a whole. While Gerudo are free to enter civilization as they please, they cannot take residence.
Left to the badlands and the deserts, the Gerudo society became a population of thieves, bandits and brigands. They prey on unsuspecting travelers to survive and travel to towns to search for means of reproduction.
Many Gerudo have migrated from the Gerudo Desert to become pirates on the high seas, making the disdain of them by society worldwide.
Culture
A Gerudo male is born only every 100 years, destined to be the king of all Gerudo, which is entirely female except for himself. Even without this king's guidance, however, the Gerudo have women who act as leaders to their tribe, crew, group, depending on where in the world they are located.
The Gerudo are aggressive and short-tempered, and have a deep-seated resentment towards other races for obvious historical reasons. However, they hate other males above all else. Where a female who stumbles upon their civilization may be escorted away, a male can be imprisoned, enslaved, and/or outright killed. This ideology is in ways contradictory, however, for Gerudo have been known to fall in love with men and the race is predominantly heterosexual. Same-sex relationships within the Gerudo, however, are not uncommon. If one Gerudo fall in love with or accepts a man as her equal, that man is respected by the whole tribe, sometimes even given a certificate of Gerudo-ship. However, it's not easy for a Gerudo to fall in love.
It is customary in Gerudo society to spend a year traveling to other human civilizations in search of men to seduce and reproduce, then return home pregnant. This is how they keep their population from dwindling, and it works very effectively; although Gerudo are deemed in a very negative manner, any human man would be lying or delusional if they do not secretly lust for a night with a Gerudo. Gerudo however they may act to try to woo a man, it is all a farce, as their only goal is to get pregnant, and often leave the man the moment the act of procreation is complete. Every baby a Gerudo has will always come out as a Gerudo, and as female unless the destined male Gerudo has reached the time of birth.
Abilities
The Gerudo are born with incredible bodies which make them incredible combatants. They favor two-handed blade weapons, such as curved Arabic broadswords, scimitars, and daggers, but have been known to take to bow-and-arrow and staff as well. They also have a penchant for magic, as if their bodies were designed for it. However, very few Gerudo follow-up on these talents, preferring to remain strictly melee fighters.
Although not a traditional ability, Gerudo are very charming to the senses and are sometimes able to use it to their advantage when fighting a sentient enemy
Gerudo have very healthy bodies and are slightly healthier than your average human being. However, they do have one critical weakness; the jewel on their forehead. If broken, it can cause amnesia, a variety of mental illnesses, and even possible brain damage. Fortunately for the Gerudo, very few people are aware of this weakness and thus it is rarely exploited.
