Description
Koroks are tiny things that grow no bigger than a foot normally, and look like large walking wooden root bulbs, with hands and feet. They jingle when they walk, as they are hollow and filled with a few nuts inside. Although no Korok looks alike, all Koroks have a sharp-pointed spike for a nose, for which they can nail an inked leaf onto that resembles a face. All Koroks carry the same appearance. They are androgynous, usually referring to each other as 'he' although they are of no actual gender.
History
During the Great Flood that washed away the ancient civilization where the Tetra Isles now reside, a single Kokiri fled to the highest point he could find with the seed of the Great Deku Tree. The last surviving Kokiri of his village, he made his way to a mountain with an enormous cliff-wall of stone surrounding it. Inside, a paradise of flora, with clean water and air. With his last breath he planted the Great Deku seed in the middle of the forest haven. His spirit became one with the seed and helped it grow into what it is now. Instead of Kokiri, the Great Deku Tree turned his children into the smaller Korok to adapt better to the claustrophobic environment of the island.
Culture
Surprisingly, you are just as likely to find Korok outside the island as inside. This is because very few Korok remain on the island, as the great majority actually leave the island on currents of wind high in the sky. They leave to spread seeds of plant life wherever they go, and return to the Forest Haven once a year to celebrate. Korok society can be likened to an enlightened (almost Indian in thematics) society. They care immensely about nature and the environment around them, as shown by their compulsive need to plant seeds wherever they go.
Koroks are extremely friendly and curious, and love music and dancing. They are very easy-going because of their lifestyle as well as the fact that they have no enemies. They can be friends with just about anyone.
Abilities
Besides being able to sprout seeds from their hands to plant into the ground, and being able to lift off into the sky with but a gust of wind and leaf parachutes that they pull out, the Koroks have just about no other real useful abilities. They are tiny and quite fragile, definitely the weakest of the races physically.
The Koroks do, however, have one advantage that no other race has: stealth. By size alone it is difficult for all kinds of enemies to see them, but even then, the Koroks have no natural enemies. No wild monster will go out of their way to attack a Korok on the battlefield, and a sentient monster would only do so if they are aware that said Korok threatens them. Because of this perk, even though Koroks are terrible fighters, they don't need to be good ones. Koroks are free to move about the battlefield without worry of being attacked, and set up traps for their comrades' enemies, or find other ways to assist them in combat. Koroks are partial to slingshots, magic and trap-style tools(such as caltrops and needles) to give their friends the opportunity to attack. And on their own, a Korok will rarely ever have to worry about fighting; He can walk through a cave of Dodongos without fear of being eaten, burned or otherwise killed.
