Dungeons, Temples, and Challenges
If a player wants a set adventure, or would like to get their grubby little mitts on a piece of hardware, there are essentially two ways to go about it.
One is to hope that a staff member places the right things in their path in the thread that their character is currently in. This is a gimme of sorts, although, make no mistake, you'll earn whatever swag you find, and will end up in either a Temple, Dungeon, or Challenge scenario.
The other is to request a challenge of some kind. For example, if you want a hookshot, and none are popping up in your path, you can ask around and get directions to a temple "reputed to contain one."
In short, make a date, and we'll pencil you in. No promises, of course.
There are three general categories..
The first is the basic Dungeon. A nasty complex, usually crawling with monsters, a little light on traps and puzzles. The combat-junkie's option.
Next, we have Temples. Similar in most respects to Dungeons, they differ in that there are more traps and puzzles, and fewer monsters to thrash. Because fo the difficulty in passing through a temple, they wield better rewards.
Finally, there's the "Challenge" category. This covers things like wandering boss monsters, a town held hostage by bandits, that sort of thing. Little events that don't involve trekking down into some dank hole in the ground. Here, you may die with the sun on your face.
Bear in mind that while members are able to create these temples, dungeons and challenges for themselves, only staff can dole out items or world-changing events as prizes. Any violations of this policy will have dire consequences, to be determined on the whim of the Staff.
