History: Triem was born in a small Ordonian village, in the very house where his forefathers had been born for generations. In Triem’s case however, he would never really get to call the house a home. His parents, Han and Rosa Vurngrit, where merchants by trade, and soon began taking their son along with them on their journeys.
As Triem grew older, his parents began the task of providing the boy with an education. Rosa began tutoring Triem in mathematics, science, history, language, and practically everything else one would need in the civilized world. Han however, being a former mercenary with little education, was only able to provide Triem with advanced survival and combat skills that hardly any civilian would know. Triem gathered everything at an extraordinary rate, and by the time he was 12, his knowledge was equivalent to that of an adult, and his combat abilities outclassed most Hylian regulars.
Around the age of 13 Triem hit puberty, a change that would have many surprising affects. The once sociable young boy know shoed extreme weakness when facing girls, and was constantly getting into trouble thanks to his father’s less than decent romantic advise and his excessively shy behavior. He constantly found himself amid romantic misadventures, most of which where started by the girl/girls involved, and all of them ended badly.
The most memorable of these was an incident in Castle Town, when a young, strangely dressed, red-haired girl with large gold eyes brought him on an excursion through Castle Town that she referred to as a date. They traveled everywhere, seeing the sights, browsing through shops, playing games, and enjoying each other’s company without a single mishap or incident. As twilight arrived, the two parted ways at the entrance to the city. She kissed him, and then left him with these words.
“You’re a nice kid, and good looking at that. You just have to be more open with girls. You’ll definitely find love someday.” With that said, she walked away, taking his heart (and wallet) with her. Since then Triem has tried to avoid the opposite sex as much as possible, not out of distrust, but sue to the fact that his heart still belongs to that Gerudo.
Life remained simple for Triem and his family. Shortly after his 15th birthday, the family went on an archeological adventure, their equivalent of a vacation. His parents decided that, since Triem was now old enough, and capable enough, to be a potent force in a fight, that they would pursue their lifelong dream of investigating the Desert Colossus in the Gerudo Desert. They set off immediately and, to their delight, found their passing to be extremely easy. The Bulblin ambush in the Gerudo Canyon resulted in an easy victory for the family, and the passing through the Haunted Wasteland proved equally easy.
The family felt invincible; however, tragedy would soon strike. While encamped outside Desert Colossus, the family was attacked by a massive band of monsters. Though the initial attack failed, an arrow barrage found its mark, critically wounding Rosa. Han grabs Rosa and makes a hasty retreat toward the Haunted Wasteland, ordering Triem to follow. Thanks to his Hylian shield, Triem managed to slowly cover the retreat unharmed, and the family made it into the Haunted Wasteland and away from the attackers successfully.
The family made its way through the eternal sandstorm, moving as quickly as possible in order to save Rosa. After about an hour of wandering, Han suddenly stopped and sat down next to a rock placing the now lifeless corpse of Rosa on her final resting place. After a brief moment of silence, the two started off again, however, movement proves difficult for Han, who was badly wounded during the retreat.
As they make their way through the wasteland, Han suddenly stops and gives Triem his archery supplies, claiming that he just needs to rest. Though Triem wants to stay with his father, Han orders him to go on ahead. After about half an hour of wandering a rejuvenated Han rejoins Triem and leads him out of the haunted wasteland. Overjoyed to be out of that deathtrap and once again in the mildly safer Gerudo Desert, Triem sprints past his father and dances with joy on the calm mesa. When he turns to share his excitement, however, he finds himself alone.
With his sword, shield, parents, and water gone, Triem begins to make his way across the Gerudo desert. Armed with his father’s bow and training, Triem’s real adventure is just beginning.
