Hello friends,
When I wrote my "Cleaning up the Cobwebs" post, I had not done a lot of reading to see what had transpired in my long absence. When I last visited, I had lost hope that anybody would really be coming back and trying to bring back the site. Now, spam and ...weirdness aside, I see that I was, at least to an extent, wrong. I've gone through several of the main boards and removed some spam, most notably the messy guest posts and the fan art spam. While there's a ton of off-topic stuff left, I can't say that I can blame you all, since you've just been trying to keep things alive. In case anybody was wondering, I had the option to email me about private messages turned "off" all this time. This has now been changed, so I can now be reached by PM, whether or not I've stopped by.
I am touched to see several of you return again and again over the years and continue to champion the legacy that was started by PT when he put the game together. I don't know if I can promise to be as active... But I'd like to.
This brings me to the current state of things. I see several PMs in my box that need catching up on and far too many characters that never got approved. I'd like to fix that, with my apologies. I'm still thinking about it, but at this point I think I'm going to appoint some moderators so the site can have a possibility of healing, and to prevent decay in the event of my absence again. In the very likely event that I do this, I will try to pick members of the community that really care about the site and that know what they're doing. If I pick you, please do your best to carry out the vision of Legion Hero in approving characters, removing spam, and keeping the pease. If you think I missed somebody, tell me. If I pick you and you don't want the job, then I'll undo it.
Under normal circumstances, I'd host some community elections and/or ask the people that I want to appoint before doing so, but things are so sparse around here that I can't realistically put a deadline on when I want responses, especially since everybody thinks, for good reason, that I'm gone. So, I'll be erring on the side that the people that I choose will return someday.
I hope to get around to PMs and any stories that I'm involved in soon. Until then, hang in there.
