History: Kiba's family came from a remote, island village located near the Tetra Isles. Though the island was a nesting ground for all sorts of monsters, some Sheikah had settled here, seeing the island and its hostile inhabitants as the perfect training scenario. 20 years ago, however, settlers from Tetra came to the island and claimed it as a Tetran colony. The Tetrans began pushing the Sheikah to abandon the island, and the Sheikah did. Many Sheikahs left the island, leaving behind well-hidden Sheikah village and some warriors amid the island's northern hills. Among the refuge's where Kouta and Ayame, two Sheikah warriors who where heading to Hyrule. Kouta's father, Ronin, was one of the many Sheikah dedicated to defending Hyrule's Royal Family, and the couple planned to join him in their kings service.
Upon arrival, they discovered that Ronin had retired from active duty, and was now in charge of training other Sheikahs interested in aiding the Royal Family. Before going into active service, Kouta and Ayame took a year off in order to settle into their new home, and give birth to a son named Kiba. The next year, Kouta and Ayame began active duty, while Ronin retired from instructing in order to raise his young grandson in the way of the Sheikah. Everything was going perfectly for this little family, however, when Kiba was only 2, disaster struck. Kiba's parents where killed during a battle between the palace guards and a band of skilled assassins.(now believed to be either rogue Sheikah or well trained Gerudo) Ronin found that he had gone from being the toddlers mentor, to full time father. Undaunted, Ronin moved to an isolated Ordonian village, where he would spend the rest of his life raising Kiba.
As the years went by Kiba developed at an exceptional speed. He learned the skills of his race quickly, and, to the dismay of the villagers, was more than willing to use them when causing trouble. He tended to be isolated from the other children, who found him to be weird and amusingly different. He never really had any friends, and was treated like an outcast along with his grandfather. He always got the last laugh, however, by taking his vengeance through a variety of pranks and a campaign of animal terrorism.
The most eventful year of his life was the year that he turned 13. Having come of age and (easily) passed all tests, Kiba's ear was pierced, and in it was placed his fathers earring, an earring made from a strange substance supposedly only known to the inhabitants of his fathers homeland. Less than a month later, another event occurred that would shape his future.
The village in which Kiba lived was located in the wilderness, making the land around it up for grabs, and it was "grabbed by a rather unusual hand. A party of Gerudo, having grown tired of their constant wandering, had settled nearby, and created their own village. Though they had kept it secret at first, Ordonian hunters discovered the village and immediately tension brewed. The Ordonians and Gerudo didn't trust each other; however they agreed that they could live in harmony, as long as they keep their distance.
Seeing that he was the only one in the village that they considered worthless enough to risk losing, the Ordonians had Kiba carry out any business or errands between the two villages. Because of this job, Kiba found himself frequenting the Gerudo village, and over time, developed a relationship with a young Gerudo priestess in training. Their relationship lasted for months, and would have lasted longer had it not been for the raid.
One evening, Kiba and Ronin went to a festival at the Gerudo village, however, they reached the village to discover it in ruin, with the bodies of Gerudo scattered everywhere. While searching for survivors the two where attacked by the surviving Gerudo, and, not wishing to fight, decided to flee. Things didn't go as planned however, when Ronin was struck down and killed by one of the Gerudo. Kiba, suddenly experiencing a change of heart, turned on his attackers and killed all but one, who he interrogated. He was told that the Ordonians had raided the village during festival, killing everything that they could and lighting most of the village aflame.
Enlightened on the situation, Kiba returned to his village as quickly as possible, and arrived to find the villager holding a massive celebration. He was greeted by the villagers, but wasn't listening to their greetings, but a drunken farmer’s description of how he killed a Gerudo priestess, Kiba's friend. Kiba's attention soon returned to the smiling farmer standing before him offering him a beer, a beer celebrating the slaughter of other humans.
Blinded by rage, Kiba drew his blade and slashed off the farmers arm with a single stroke. The next 15 minutes where pure chaos. Drunken farmers and warriors swung at the alert, skilled, and enraged Sheikah, who killed them as they came. 20 minutes later, the surviving non-combatants peeked out of their homes only to see a blood-soaked Sheikah stealing rupees and plucking ninja needles from the corpses of the village's best warriors.
That was the last the villagers would ever see of Kiba. Kiba decided to travel to the island from which his parents came, and receive the legendary training and equipment that his grandfather had told him so much about. He bought a boat and, using his grandfather’s maps and charts, set off to find the island. Finding the island would prove to be an extreme challenge, seeing that he had no experience with sailing or navigation in his life. He spent the better part of a year lost at sea, wandering aimlessly.
After months on the ocean, Kiba reached the island, however, there where no signs of human life to be found, only hordes of monsters. Kiba had been told many stories about the unique forging methods and the strange metals used by the island's Sheikah inhabitants to create a weapon known as the Kyoukou Ninja-To, a Ninja-To so strong that it could never chip, crack, dull, or be broken in any way. Seeing that he had spent so much time searching, Kiba figured that, even if he didn't receive elite training, at least he could find a Kyoukou Ninja-To.
Though Kiba had figured that no people equaled no training, he was wrong. Sneaking across the island, hiding from monsters, and fighting out of normally certain death proved the greatest training he could imagine. After about a month on the island, Kiba found the old Sheikah village, and, after about a day of searching, managed to sneak into the armory and obtain a Kyoukou Ninja-To.
After sneaking off the island with his well-earned skills and sword, Kiba wandered the Tetra Isles, picking up whatever jobs, quests, and adventures he could find. He traveled to many different places, and made many different friends; he even captured and trained a pet hawk, at the cost of several gashes across his right cheek.
It has been two years since the 14 Sheikah named Kiba left the mainland. To many he is unknown, and to some, just a memory, however, a Sheikah, about 16 years old, stepped out of his boat on onto the dock. He looks at his surroundings, and then starts towards the land that he left two years ago.
